Looking back at your 31-year journey, how would you describe your evolution within the company—both professionally and personally?
Over the past three decades, I’ve grown a lot—both in my career and as a person. I started out unsure of myself, but with guidance, experience, and time, I became more confident, dependable, and connected to the company. This journey has shaped who I am today.

From your perspective, what’s the most significant change you’ve seen in the company culture, and how has it shaped your own experience?
The biggest change has been the shift toward a more open, inclusive, and team-oriented culture. In the past, things were more formal and structured. Now, there’s more communication, respect for everyone’s ideas, and a stronger sense of teamwork. It’s made work feel more meaningful and fulfilling.
You started your career working closely with the late Chairperson Emeritus Mrs. Shirin Paul. What was it like working with her? Any memories or lessons that still stay with you?
Working with Mrs. Shirin Paul was a privilege. She was graceful, wise, and very detail-oriented. One memory that stands out is receiving her handwritten notes of appreciation. They reminded me how thoughtful leadership can leave a lasting impact.

What’s one lesson from her that you still carry in your personal and professional life?
She taught me the value of empathy. She led with kindness and respect while still being professional. That lesson has stayed with me—I try to treat everyone with the same understanding in all areas of my life.
Today, you work with Group Chairman Mr. Karan Paul, Chairperson of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ms. Priya Paul, and Director Ms. Priti Paul. How has your role changed under their leadership?
As the company has continued to grow under their leadership, my role has evolved as well. I’ve moved from mainly task-based work to being more involved in planning and coordination. Their forward-thinking approach has pushed me to take more initiative and stay adaptable.

What’s a typical day like working with such inspiring leaders? Any memorable behind-the-scenes moments?
Every day brings something new. Working with such leaders has taught me a lot—through both big meetings and small, encouraging moments. One memory I cherish is when an idea I shared was actually used. That made me feel truly appreciated.
The leadership team is known for its entrepreneurial mindset. How has that influenced your approach to work?
Their way of thinking has inspired me to be more proactive and open to new ideas. I’ve learned to think ahead, solve problems quickly, and not be afraid of change. It’s helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect.
What’s one surprising lesson you’ve learned while working with these leaders?
One surprising lesson is that leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about how you treat others. I’ve seen how listening, being patient, and staying humble can have a much stronger impact than giving orders.

What advice would you give to younger employees starting their journey here?
Keep learning, be curious, and stay true to your values. Take small steps every day, and always be open to feedback. Over time, your efforts will add up and shape your path.
How has technology changed your work since you started, and how have you adapted?
When I started, we used typewriters, paper files, and phone messages. Now everything is digital and fast. It was a big change, but I made the effort to learn and ask for help when needed. Being open to learning has helped me keep up.

You’ve seen many changes over the years. What’s the most fulfilling one to witness?
Seeing the company grow into a modern, forward-thinking organization while keeping its values intact has been very rewarding. Watching young leaders bring fresh energy while respecting the company’s roots makes me feel proud.
If you could share one defining moment from your 31 years, what would it be?
One special moment was being recognized for my years of service. It wasn’t just about the award—it was a reminder of the trust and respect I’ve built over time. That moment meant a lot and reflected the whole journey of growth and belonging.
