Managing and chartering vessels across varying market conditions has broadened my understanding of global trade dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of operational efficiency in maintaining competitiveness.

How has the company supported your personal and career growth?

What are the key challenges in chartering, particularly in the context of a long-established maritime company?
The chartering business today faces several challenges, including market volatility, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency requirements, evolving customer expectations, and geopolitical uncertainties.
For a company with a long-standing legacy, there is the additional responsibility of preserving the trust and reputation built over generations. I navigate these challenges by staying informed about market developments, maintaining strong relationships with clients, relying on data-driven decision-making, and fostering close coordination across departments.

How do you foster collaboration and teamwork within your department and across the organization?
Effective collaboration begins with open communication, mutual respect, and a shared understanding of objectives. In chartering, success often depends on seamless coordination between commercial, operations, technical, and finance teams.
One memorable example occurred during a period of challenging market conditions. Multiple departments worked together to optimize vessel deployment while fulfilling customer commitments. Through proactive communication and collective effort, we successfully maintained operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
How has the role of chartering evolved over the years, and how have you adapted?
The chartering function has undergone significant transformation over the past two decades, driven by globalization, technology, increased market transparency, and sustainability requirements.
In the past, many decisions relied heavily on industry experience and personal relationships. Today, digital tools, real-time market intelligence, and analytics play a crucial role in decision-making. I have adapted by continuously learning, embracing new technologies, and combining modern tools with practical industry experience to make informed commercial decisions.
